“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept; and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Obviously, Heavenly Father wanted man and woman to be married and live with each other. Those that believe they were born in the wrong bodies and that choosing a partner of the same sex because of this thought are wrong. Satan, in his wisdom, has led many people to believe they should be with a partner of the same sex.

Heavenly Father wants each of us to choose a partner of the opposite sex so we can fulfill the first commandment of “multiply and replenish the earth.” Man and woman are responsible in their relationships to procreate and bring forth children and lead the children to Heavenly Father.

The act of procreation should be a spiritual and physical encounter. The act of procreation gives the man (the father) and the woman (the mother) the power to create life.

Satan wants people to believe that it’s okay to have partners of the same sex. Unfortunately this is against Heavenly Father’s desires. Yet, because free agency is given to all it is up to the individual to make their choice. People that seek same sex partners do so based upon a choice — they are not born into the wrong body.

The first “multiply and replenish” [more appropriately translated “fill”] the earth. The second “not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge.”

The first commandment could never have been followed if the second had not been broken. One might wonder why Heavenly Father would place a stumbling block in the way of following His commandments. The simply reason is Free Agency.

Adam and Eve could have chosen to not eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge. If they had not, they would not have known they were naked nor how to procreate. Did eating of the fruit provide this knowledge? I don’t know, but they gained a knowledge of carnal things because they sinned.

Hence, if they had not eaten of the fruit of the tree of knowledge, we would not be here today.

First to multiply and replenish the earth.

Genesis 1:27-28
“So God created man in his own himage, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto the, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Second, they are told they cannot eat of the tree of knowledge and if they do they shall surely die.

Genesis 2:16-17
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Traditionally people are taught that the first commandment was to not eat of the tree of knowledge. However, chronological order in the Book of Genesis presents quite a different picture. Adam and Eve were given the commandment to “multiply and replenish the earth” before being given the commandment to not eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge.

I for one am glad that Eve ate of the tree of knowledge. If she hadn’t used her free agency neither you nor I would have been born.
